ChainGuard is a wallet security scanner for iOS that helps you monitor Ethereum token approvals, assess risk, and revoke dangerous approvals. This privacy policy explains what data ChainGuard collects, how it is used, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

ChainGuard collects only the minimum data necessary to function:

• Wallet addresses -- You provide public Ethereum wallet addresses to scan for token approvals. These are public blockchain addresses, not private keys. They are stored temporarily for monitoring purposes.
• Device tokens -- If you enable push notifications, Apple provides a device token that we store to send you security alerts via Apple Push Notification service (APNs).

2. How We Use Your Data

• Wallet addresses are used solely to query public blockchain data (token approvals, contract interactions) and provide security assessments. Scan results are not persisted on the server.
• Device tokens are used solely to deliver push notifications when a security risk is detected for a wallet you are monitoring.

We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your data with any third party. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the ChainGuard service.

3. Third-Party Services

ChainGuard relies on the following third-party services to function:

• Apple Push Notification service (APNs) -- Delivers push notifications to your device. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Etherscan API -- Used to query publicly available blockchain data (token approvals, contract information). We send only your public wallet address. Subject to Etherscan's Privacy Policy.
• WalletConnect -- Used for peer-to-peer transaction signing when revoking approvals. The connection is direct between your wallet and the app. ChainGuard never sees or has access to your private keys. Subject to WalletConnect's Privacy Policy.

We do not share your data with these services beyond what is technically necessary for the functionality described above.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Device tokens and wallet monitoring registrations are stored on servers hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS), encrypted at rest.
• Scan results are computed on-the-fly and are not persisted on the server.
• All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS (TLS encryption in transit).

5. Data Retention

• Wallet addresses are stored for as long as you have them registered for monitoring. You can remove them at any time by disconnecting the wallet in the app.
• Device tokens are stored for as long as you have push notifications enabled. Unregistering your device or uninstalling the app removes the token.

6. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Delete your data: Disconnect your wallets in the app to remove all stored wallet addresses and device registrations. Since there are no user accounts, there is no account to delete.
• Stop notifications: Disable push notifications in the app or in your device's Settings to stop receiving alerts and remove your device token.
• Request information: Contact us at the email below to request details about what data, if any, we hold related to your wallet address or device.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

7. Children's Privacy

ChainGuard is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of ChainGuard after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
